New York Mayor Bill de Blasio today announced stark new drone control measures following the terrorist drone attacks in Moscow and Sydney.

From today, no drones heavier than 2lb will be allowed to fly unless registered to a verified operator, and identified visually via a physical ID. The city of NYC has teamed with Boeing to ensure that unauthorised flying vehicles are unable to reach their destination.

Security measures are being developed in partnership with the Google spin-off Passport XYZ.
