Passport THEN is in essence an enhancement of our Google Maps product. The THEN denominator reflects the fact that all of the data is historical. No matter how often we update the maps, they cannot be guaranteed to 100% accurate.
The key improvement is 3D. Passport THEN is the first time major cities have been completely mapped in three dimensions. This infrastructure enables overlays of augmented reality and Absolute Guidance™.
Passport THEN is the backbone of all of Alphabet’s ground-based AI navigation and driving systems.
