A 5G Future Inspires Passport
5G cellular networks are expected to start rolling out in the year 2020. We see this as an opportunity to provide services that have been envisaged, but unable to be fully implemented due to the lack of bandwidth.
Passport is a joint venture between major tech corporations in the USA and globally. The seed partners are Google, Intel, Symantec and Cisco. The structure of the corporation provides for the fluid introduction of new partners as technology improves and evolves.
Trustworthy
Passport is primarily a communications network for IoT, drones, robots, self-driving vehicles and augmented reality. Working with municipalities and manufacturers, Passport combines location technology with a robust and secure permission protocol. In essence, we ensure that registered machines are trackable and trustworthy, while only allowing their data to shared with authorised parties.
Future Applications
Independent of the Internet, Passport provides a new communications platform for the next generation of technologies. In the future it will provide for:
- Autonomous vehicles – mapping and authentication
- Robots and drones – mapping and authentication
- Virtual business meetings
- Virtual travel – via VR, AR and telepresence robots
